Shop till i drop @ Hat Yai - Day 1 (23rd December 2010)

For your info :

Hat Yai (Thai: หาดใหญ่, pronounced [hàːt jàj], also Haad Yai or Had Yai) is a city in southern Thailand near the boundary to Malaysia. Located at 7°1′N 100°28′E / 7.017°N 100.467°E / 7.017; 100.467, it has a population of 157,359 (2008) in the city itself and about 800,000 in the greater Hat Yai area. Hat Yai is the largest city of Songkhla Province, the largest metropolitan area in Southern, and third largest metropolitan area of the country. It is often mistaken as being the capital of the province, but Songkhla is the capital and the center of administration and culture, while Hat Yai is the business center. The two cities are considered as twin cities due to their close connection, and accordingly, Hat Yai and Songkhla form the Greater Hatyai-Songkhla Metropolitan Area.
To us, Hat Yai is just like a mini Bangkok, except that the food & shopping are much cheaper than Bangkok! Maybe cos not much people knew about this place! And now, we (me & zy) are kinda addicted to this place already! He's already planning for another one during April 2011, with his family. Thanks but no thanks, he can go with them himself, i'm not going!

I've been to Hat Yat during my teenage days, with my parents. But becos they brought me to those 'lao lang tius' (auntie & uncle places) and thus, made me think that Hat Yai is sucha boring place until this time round. We explored around, without those 'lao lang keis' (old man & woman) & realised that Hat Yai is actually much better than Bangkok! Haa! In terms of SHOPPING!!!!!! Woooohoooo!

In 4 days, i spent a total of 14,000 baht there, which amounted to about S$600. And i live like a queen liao, spent without thinking at all. ZY gave me 4000 baht as X'mas present & he paid quite a few for me too. Heehee

I bought about 7-8 pairs of shorts lor! One cost (average) only 100 baht (S$4.30) but of cos, the material is not that good de lah! If you want power material, one cost about 250 baht (S$10.80), it's considered VERY expensive liao.

And i bought 25 pairs of big eye colored lens! LOL! Not all mine lah, Maggie asked me to help her buy 10 pairs! Heehee

I really bought alot of things until i forget what i buy, pics also gone liao. SAD LIKE FUCK LAH! Still trying to retrieve them with other software now! :(

I will post whatever it's left! Sigh

At the airport, her dad bought her an elephant to accompany her through the flight. But, she was (again) perfectly fine when on the flight! Be it good or budget flight, she can adapt it well! Thumbs up for that! ^^

Only Tiger Airways has flight to Hat Yai, journey about 1 hour & 15 mins. VERY FAST LOR!

Don't know why she looked so tense up in this pic!

But actually, she was in her own world, fell ASLEEP after a while!

Beautiful clouds!

Hello Hat Yai! LOL

The kiddos.

The street name of the hotel we stayed at.

HAHAHAHA! His messy hair, so 'lor' man! He's my blood younger brother. We met him there!

Got our room liao! We stayed at this hotel becos ALL the hotels are fully booked. Seems that Hat Yai is not that ULU afterall. Alot of M'sians and S'poreans lor! Near and cheap what!

Settled down, passed Raeann to my mum and i went shopping liao! LOL! My dad's friend's partner brought me around! That auntie is very nice!!! Btw, we communicated in Teochew dialect. Yes, i'm a Teochew! Some of the Thais are Teochew too.

Their roadside dessert stall. Frankly speaking, i don't really dare/like to eat from roadside, don't know why.

Auntie brought me to Robinson to top up my Thai sim card (both ZY & my Thai number quite nice wan, i'm still keeping it lor! LOL) & shopping. Fuck man, their stuffs are also damn cheap! I bought one big bag of things and paid only S$30+. I doubt i can do that in SG!

Next, everyone gathered up for dinner here! Steamboat! To me, it's SO-SO only lah, not that nice leh!

After dinner, everyone went seperate ways liao. Bro & Xiao Qin (tour guide) brought us to 'Perk-Thai', i don't know issit the right way to spell it anot. It's something like BKK Chatchuchak market but it's open everyday from 5pm - 10pm!

WTF! How can anyone eat this lidat! I don't know what the shit is this!

Fresh strawberries!

The shop that sell 99 baht shoes! (S$4.30 per pair)

Loots (excluding ZY) for the first day!

Raeann insisted to buy this chiong burberry wallet at 80 baht (S$3.40). LOL

Bought this at the airport! Aiyoyo, my coming C.C bill gonna be a BLAST for sure, confirm more than 3K! =X

That's all for the first day. I hope i'm able to retrieve back ALL my pics! It has been running for 5 hrs 2 mins 40 secs and it's still scanning till half only! Can it be faster?! SIGH!
